Saturday June 7th 2:00 - 4:00
Join us for a pleasant afternoon eco-kayak tour of the Sedge Island Marine Conservation Zone in Barnegat Bay. Our water trail guides will provide some local history and environmental facts regarding the Sedge Islands during this 2-hour paddle. Along the way, we may also stop to pick up litter from the islands.
This event is limited to 20 people and you must RSVP to secure a spot. This event is recommended for adults and youth over 14 years old. Participants will need to be able to paddle a tandem kayak for two hours.
The park charges an entrance fee of $10/vehicle for NJ residents and $20/vehicle for non-residents.
We will meet at the A-21 kayak launch at 1:30pm and the tour will begin promptly at 2:00pm. Parking is available at the A-21 lot (approximately 8 miles from the park entrance) and requires a 0.2 mile walk to the kayak launch area. In the event of high winds or inclement weather, this event will be canceled.
Kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be provided - personal watercraft are not permitted for this event. We recommend that you bring a hat, sun glasses, water bottle, sun screen, bug spray and a small dry bag. Water shoes or sneakers are required (no bare feet permitted)
